Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
Lauterbrunnen and the "Valley of the 72 waterfalls" is situated in one of the deepest valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. ‘Lauter Brunnen’ means ‘many fountains.' This valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland. It's also a great base camp for exploring this amazing area, including the train ride to Jungfraujoch.

The bells from the sheep and cows harmonize with the sounds of the cascading waterfalls.

Trümmelbach Falls carries water from ten glaciers THROUGH the ‘Black Monk’ mountain. Ride a tunnel lift and climb a series of stairs inside the mountain for many views of the falls.

Staubbach Falls plunges 1,000 feet from an overhanging rock face, making it one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe. Be sure to walk behind it!

The unbelievable view from our chalet room #52 at Hotel Silberhorn!

A late snow was melting, giving way to crocus.
